Pulling starter ring

I picked up this saw earlier this week and it did pull over till I cleaned it. Now it doesn’t grip and I ordered a new plastic starter ring. I’m looking for suggestions to pulling the old metal one out. I had found a YouTube video of installing the plastic one but I haven’t come across one to pull the old ring out. Thank you in advance

I used a screwdriver and a hammer to remove the metal ring from my Contra. Carefully work around the edge and bend it toward the center. I removed the fan and starter cup from the saw before working on the ring. There is most likely a better way but this worked.
