I always used to laugh at the notion, got plenty in during the week. But I'm kind of taking a break this summer, letting the body heal a bit after the last few years. Just kind of doing odd jobs around the neighborhood. The last few weeks I've found myself throwing a rope in a tree a time or two a week just to stay in practice. I was pretty burnt out, but I'm actually enjoying it again. Of course I bring the silky, might as well deadwood it while I'm up there....
Sorry You're so far north, I know a couple live oaks you'd get a kick out of playin in. Jeff

i take my family out to play in trees. i set up swings, rappels, zip lines and low climbs for them. they have a blast. and i actually enjoy playing in the tree. its fun in shorts and a tennis shoes with no gear on your saddle. i am in western PA. we have some large, old trees here still.
