I used to always buys slabs of wood as it was more convenient but obviously much more expensive.
I just recently have purchased a few very large 500 and 750 lbs burls (soft Maple from oregon and California Buckeye burl) Because of these being root burls i have been advised to slab them up with a chainsaw. I only have an old old husky with a 16" bar.
I am in need of a MS 461 or 066 or 088 or something large and also looking for a milling attachement to help me cut straight.
Seriously looking and ready to by today!
