Hi there. Young man from Denmark here, wanting to start a milling business of my own at one point. (because I dislike bosses)

My idea is to buy either a Logosol Big Mill Pro or the Alaskan Mrk III with some additional bars, etc. I've read up on this, and can get the Alaskan for much cheaper from the UK, than the price of a Logosol. I also plan to get a thin kerf ripping chain, as I read this will speed production and be a big improvement.

1) Is the Alaskan viable for a business production and capacity wise in your opinion? (with thin kerf chain)

2) And do you think I will be able to compete with those guys driving around with band saw Wood Mizers behind their pickup trucks? (all of them do here as far as I can tell)

Compared to a band saw portable Wood Mizer, the Alaskan or the Logosol are way cheaper and i like the idea of running a low overhead business that is fairly cheap to startup.

All advice is greatly appreciated.

Best regards, Anders
