Hey all, I dropped a little hint in my post about ageing parents that we were dealing with something else, but now it's time to share that with you. Yesterday my wife gave birth to our 10th child, a girl. However there are complications. She has Trisomy 18, a genetic disorder which is most always fatal within the first month. We have known about this since November. Yesterday Nancy went in for a procedure to drain some excessive amniotic fluid, but she began to bleed into the womb. It could not be stopped, so an emergency C section was performed, and Annika Hope Peterson was born at 2:12. She was 5 weeks early, and weighed 2 pounds 11 oz. She is unable to eat or be taken off oxygen. We do not expect her to last much longer. All of my kids were able to see and hold her, as well as Nancy's parents. My son Knut was home from college for only a couple hours for an interview at Scott AFB, and he was able to come also. An hour or two earlier or later and he would have missed it. We are very blessed, and while we have no hope for he in this life, we do have hope to see her again in eternity with Christ. That is why we gave her the middle name of Hope. Lamentations 3:21-23 "And this I remember and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning, great is your faithfulness, O Lord."
