Curious what a "standard" log truck is? Seems that there really isn't a standard. What is the norm in one area no one has ever seen in another.

We have 2, both self loaders. One is a straight truck with bunks can haul ~25ft logs. The other has a dolly so 5 axles total and can haul ~45ft logs.
We bought a bunch of logs from a guy that hauled trucks in from BC. They were a 4 axle truck with a set of bunks and a 4 axle "hay wagon" trailer with 4 bunks. Could fit about 25ft log on the truck and 35ft on the trailer.

The BC setups were rolling in here with around 40 tons of logs on board. I want to say the smallest load was 37 tons and largest was 49 tons.

We don't deal with board feet here, just weight or volume.

Anyhow, interesting reading. I've never heard of stamps or markings on logs. But again, there aren't any mills here... well other than mills like us... forest to final form... IE... we log it, haul it and make it into lumber or firewood.
