Shindaiwa 488 Replacement Bar and Chain?

I've read so many great things about the Shindaiwa 488 on the forum,that I'm now considering buying one.Can anyone suggest a good 16"bar and chain replacement over the stock setup?Thanks for the help.

I run several 488's. This is great saw. the stock setup is fine, just run full chisel chain. I also installed the pro air-filter kit. This saw has good low- end. They seem to be pretty tight brand new but when it breaks in look out !!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree the 488 is a great saw and you will be very happy with one. The stock setup is ok, but when you wear it out you might try a Windsor mini pro bar (a solid steel bar unlike the laminated one that comes with the saw, the mini pro is more streamlined and a tad lighter than other pro bars), matched with oregon 20LP chain. Walt Galer recommended the windsor 50JL chain as a fast cutter as well, but I haven't had a chance to try it. Try a Shindaiwa 488 I'd be amazed if you wear it out!
