Should a chainsaw 4 stroke out of the wood?

well i do like to mod saws and such but the 441 i have is set ast rich as the limiters allow and its running like i want. now for why we want the saw to clean up during load. The extra fuel from what i understand is to help get the cylinder lubed so you dont over heat the motor and seize. now im sure someone other than myself will know better.
 
Good responses, and yes, it's best to er slightly rich than lean, in all cases.

What throws a monkey wrench into this deal is that some modern saws have rev-limiting coils and retard modules. These items can mimic the "four stroking" that we listen for at no load, and the untrained tuner can end up too lean with the "H" screw and possibly damage the engine.

How do I know if my saw has a rev limiter? New 290.
