I have ordered a batch of aftermarket carburetors from them over a month ago. According to tracking they have been stuck in Hangzhou without moving for a month now.
I contacted Huztl to ask what's going on and first they told me to wait 30 days (already passed) and then 45 days. Next up 60 days? ;)
Three days ago I ordered the most urgently needed carbs from a no-name eBay Chinese seller. According to tracking they have already left China and are on their way here. Have I mentioned shipping was cheaper to boot?

I ordered several parts over the years from Huztl and I haven't had a problem with shipping and customer service. I usually got my parts in three weeks and if there were problems I usually got a reply that made sense by the time I woke up in the morning. Decent company.
Am I just being unlucky this time around? And if my carbs fail to arrive what are my chances of getting a refund? My old lady just destroyed the rear bumper of her Toyota and I need the cash to fix it!

Buy crap from Hutzl and then act surprised when this happens? Sorry, not feeling much sympathy. It would be the same as buying a Yugo and acting surprised when it isn’t as reliable as a Honda.

Call your CC and contest the charges. You’ll get your money back. You might even still get the goods later in another 30, 45, 60, or ??? days. Then don’t buy Hutzl crap again.

Am I dissing Huztl products here? This is a problem with shipping they seem unable or unwilling to fix.

If Walbro weren't so ridiculously greedy I wouldn't even bother, but $90 for a WYK (no purge bulb models) are a bit too much to stomach. If you know where to pick them for $50 new (their value, including a profit for everybody involved) I am all ears. ;)

The new year in China is a huge event.. everything shuts down for 2-3 weeks. I have dealt with this a few times. You will probably receive your order at the beginning of February. It sucks, but their culture is their culture. It won't move til at least the last week of January.

What you really have to be aware of is the price of the product is basically equal to the cost to ship it, in other words just double your price of your order before shipping is added, I buy very little from them but when it can't be shipped in a bubble wrap small package such as plastics or bulk items cost of product = shipping cost generally.

It is what it is. Dirt cheap and of dubious quality. With Chinesium, sometimes you get burned and sometimes you get a bargain and if your livelihood depends on it it’s not worth the risk.

Yes it's possible, but the problem is this stuff has been stuck since early December, way before the Lunar New Year mentality kicked in. Note the other order from China (order placed on Thursday) has already left the country and it will be here... well, it depends how long it takes it to clear the customs, but stuff from China seems to be waved through.
My chief problem is how the guys at Farmertec are handling the case, very different from my previous experiences with them: as I said decent company. That's why my curiosity: I wanted to know if somebody else had noticed the same degradation as I did.

I have had stuff from them get stuck over there too. Seems totally random. Also had it happen randomly from fleeBay purchases. Hit or miss for me, I don’t buy from those sources if I need it quickly unless it’s the garunteed delivery date on fleeBay stuff.

Chinese New Year is January 25th this year. Last year Feb 5th. Full Moon festival is in Autumn. My Thai wife and I are in Thailand and celebrate New Years with her family every year.

Having a hard time NOT buying a Chicon saw here and bringing it back to the states. A 72cc is 1,780 bht, $59 USD.

Anyway, Chok Dee with your order.

Not only the new year BS...but what other dubious goods came across on the same container as your little box of carbs. There coulda been a stop n frisk on your container at the port. Who knows how long it would be held up. It might be being held as evidence. Lol

I have to order things from china that aren't common.
All year is 4 week max shipping with freight.
But jan-feb I wont bother with an order.
They start prepping for the new years and its all they do, then two weeks screwing off, then the postal workers come back to a 2 week backlog they dont get caught up on for 2 more weeks.

"Totally random" seems the key. Probably the Huztl package was bad Feng-shui and a superstitious China Post employee threw it away. ;)
I'll keep you posted on what happens with it, as the other carburetors are already at the customs and I have some stuff waiting to be fixed and tested.
