Trying to get back into carving. Thought I'd share to get some feedback.

2 horse heads. Roughed a couple blanks from 8" cherry biscuits with the carving saw. Took about 1.5 hrs each. They split a little across the crease of the neck, was too green for intense oiling to save.

Made for Christmas presents this year.

Sign for a local horse retirement farm. Ghetto milled some slabs, words done with the carving saw, some touch up for aesthetics. Red primer on the heart, mapp gas to burn. About 6 hours in this one. The wood was softer than anticipated in the upper corner, but it wasn't a paid piece.

Mgrtt, yeah me too. I get to think about it all day at work, thats for sure.

Siouxindian, Its Big Heart. I ended up later extending the part of the G that would make it look more like a G, but didn't take pics.
