Look at this woman - Let us never forget!
The world hasn't just become wicked...it's always been wicked.
The prize doesn't always go to the most deserving.
Her name is Irena Sendler
She Died 12 May 2008 (aged 98) in Warsaw, Poland
During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto, as a plumbing/sewer specialist.
She had an 'ulterior motive'.
She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews (being German).
Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger children).
She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.
The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the infants' noises.
During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 children/infants.
She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely.
Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.
After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family.
Most had been gassed. Those children she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.
Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize.
She was not selected.
President Obama won one year before becoming President for his work as a community organizer for ACORN
Al Gore won also --- for a slide show on Global Warming.
In MEMORIAM - 63 YEARS LATER
We're doing our small part by posting this message.
I hope you'll consider doing the same...
It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended.
This posting stands as a memorial chain, in memory of the six million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated!
Now, more than ever, with Iran, and others, claiming the HOLOCAUST to be 'a myth'.
It's imperative to make sure the world never forgets, because there are others who would like to do it again.
Share this posting and be a link in the memorial chain and help us distribute it around the world.
It will only take you a minute to pass this along...
really sad that she's been looked over for doing something so amazing for so many today.

I really can't imagine accepting any awards of today. They seem to have all been watered down and the original intents have been diminished.

(Of course, this looks to be a goose, rather than a duck. )

I've kept as pets wild but live-trapped raccoons, a skunk, a red tailed hawk, a great horned owl, a coyote pup (he was really cute & nice, too), as well as wild-catching bare handed two opossums, a rat, and countless snakes, mice, & quite a few snapping turtles. I worked at an animal hospital for 5 1/2 years, regularly forcing pills down the thoats of vicious cats & dogs.

I really doubt I would have had any trouble with a duck.

In the 80s a co-worker rented a mobile home on a farm w a nice pond in a pasture behind the trailer.Ken was 6'4 ,260. He invited me to go fish the pond w him after work on a friday in the spring. This was when Canadian geese were scarce in N.C.He had told me for a month or so that he had a pair at the pond and he had been feeding them cracked corn for weeks and had them eating out of his hand. He also told me they were nesting on the pond. We took some beers/ tackle/fishing poles and walked down to the pond. As we got near the pond a goose came out of the tall grass near the pond and towards us quick. I stopped and he walked toward the goose talking to the bird like it was a pet .The goose lowered it's head and speeded up.I told him " I don't think he's happy to see you" The goose closed in, jumped quick and bit him in his crotch and locked on. My friend jumped around and cussed while he danced w the goose still attached to his member while his hands were full w fishing rods, a tacklebox and a beer. The goose had a hold on him for about 5 seconds till he finally dropped his gear, grabbed the goose by the neck, head and removed it from himself and the goose slowly, definitely marched back to the pond w pride.I was laughing my ass off for a minute or more. My buddy turned his back to me and checked himself, then he went back to the trailer while I went down and starting casting. He came back down to the pond 15 mins. later and told me the damn bird had got him on the tip and it was bleeding and I laughed some more.He told me if I told anyone about this he would kill me..................of course on monday morning I got to work early and told everybody in the office about it and everybody had to tease him about his goose encounter when he came in.

Helen Keller, the woman who all women base there ability to be blissfully unaware that a machine they are using at it audibly destroys itself with varyingly violent exclamations of noise

acoustic_locator_11.jpg

All woman keenly scanning every word for the slightest change in tone to completely reinterpret any sentence said by man
