That's pretty funny... Back in my 20s I had both... a real girl friend who appeared in print ads in places like Hot Rod and Car and Driver magazines. Any of you guys who read the car rags in the early to mid-80s probably saw her draped over vets, etc. You know the body type. ;~) The problem with her was that was it... she spent all her time looking good and fixing her makeup. She was nice enough but was actually rather boring... all she knew how to do was look good. It worked! A wealthy older guy offered to give her a vet if she slept with him... she turned him down as she was a model, not a hooker... If she took after her mother she still looks great.

I had another girlfriend who won some beauty pageants in the early 80s... I saw her in a reunion photo a few years ago and she looked terrible! She was generally more interesting than the model but not enough so to make it a permanent thing.

Once I figured out that only dating women who wore high heels wasn't working I met more interesting women! LOL

The original quote might have been referring to the American ingenuity of NASA getting somebody else to foot the bill for building a big rocket.

When I was 20-22 I dated a Hawaiian Tropic Swimsuit Model, hot as hell but batshit crazy. Sooooo not worth it. “Friends” with her now on Facebook, 15 years later. Her husband looks like he wears makeup and has to sit down to pee.....

I’ll have to get some more pics from work so I can contribute more on here instead of liking everything....

I think they were based on the 5.7l/ 350. Olds used them. Junk. I seem to remember (I may be wrong) they tried using gas head gaskets and they would fail while still in the dealer showrooms!
