That is firwood beams with birch plywood on each side, it becomes a very stiff (as in "not flexible") structure.
Yes there is air inside that makes it lightweight, in contrary to if it contained wood and was heavy weight.
The table is holding about 50-60 kg of German engineered aluminum and steel mostly, it's called a CNC router.
