my favorite.squirrel is damn delicious and plenty of them to go around.

An old fellow that went through the depression told me as a young fellow he would use a box of .22s down to five shells and walk across the ridge to the general store killing five squirrels as he went. The store keep would trade him a fresh box of .22s for the squirrels. Squirrel, gravy, fried potatoes and homemade biscuits make a good meal, I don't know how my grandmother made the biscuits and gravy, but they were made with water instead of milk.
I was raised on wild game and running with hunting dogs, yeah, I know I am a red neck with pride. Have fun

My favorite way to get rid of them pesky squirrels.....Marlin .450 big bore. Usually turns em to dust!:hmm3grin2orange:

That's just classic, as is RaisedByWolves' puking lady!

I live in an area zoned general ag., my neighbors shoot squirrels, coon, possum, woodchuck, etc. but I think there'd be a problem if I decided to start mowing 'em down with my .450. And then there are the potential holes left in my mound (septic)...

I'll stick with the .22's, high velocity hollow points if I'm in a colorful mood (hehehe), shorts if I'm in a quiet mood and CB's if I need more of a challenge. Aguilla is good stuff but if you're not shooting a semi-auto no need to spend up for them, just shoot shorts; they are a tad less powerful but that really isn't noticeable, they will not cycle a semi though.

Then there is this custom, tricked out .243 I have (when was the last time you heard of one of those with a mercury tube in it?).......

For the big squirrels you need some firepower.

shooting squirrels

Kill the squirrels...............All calibers WORK! I prefer the loud devistating ones.....Nuttin but fuzz left:hmm3grin2orange:

hi
the 30-06 works very well when shooting squirrels
not to much left:censored:

I was walking my land last year with my Forrester. The discussion turned to squirrels. We used to have a fox squirrel population here but not any more. It seems that when the gray squirrels would come upon a fox squirrel nest with babies in it that the grays would castrate the fox males. Squirrel genocide. I planted a couple of tomato plants last year at the house. Guess who got all of the tomatoes?

the forester????

First off I would have loved to have been there for the RBW happening.

Puking lady, you done good!

A little off topic but the nothing but fuzz, utube videos of a Barret 50cal, and Prairie dogs. That's nothing but fuzz.

Wow, I thought I was a bit crazy for shooting striped gophers with a 30-06 with whatever (does it really matter? 190 BTHPs, 220RN, 165BTSP, whatever I got on sale at the sporting goods store) at north of 100 yards. Worked up my deer loads that way too. Figured if I could kill a gopher at 120-150 yards, it was probably accurate enough for a deer. I didn't usually get "fuzz", I got two halves of a gopher spinning off in opposite directions.

Another thumbs up for the puking lady! You should have had that on video!....LOL
I prefer a Gamo with pointed pellets... goes right threw them.

Ground hogs.... 140lb presa that LIVES to evict them...lol

Its quite the site to see as well.

If you guys can bring a fat lady with a nevous stomach, I can probably trap another Possum.

We'll stuff her full of Clams Casino, crab cakes and butter and We can do a full blown reenactment.

I got Dibbs on the big chunks!!
