I picked this saw up last weekend at a yardsale for $24. I was really wanting a top handle, but I know this isn't really a "top handle" saw, but for the price I couldn't pass it up.

It desperately needed the carb cleaned, the chain was seized due to hardened sawdust and oil caked in the brake, and needed to add some fresh gas, but after that, it fired right up and sounds like an old Harley. It is an ugly saw for sure, but it's in great shape.

Are these desirable saws? Did I overpay?

Yeah but there is a fix for.pm if y have trouble
Will do. Now you have me curious. I will try it out tomorrow. I did have the chain off earlier today and noticed it did not have any chain guide plates. I wasnt sure if it was supposed to or not though.
