Pictures I don't know. What 3 screw carb should I get?

The presence of a slot in the bottom of the case does not mean it has an adjustable oiler. Almost all 024/024S didn’t have the slot there. I’ve seen a few very early 026 without the slot.

That is not a “frankensaw”. It’s a late model plastic badged non pro 026, just before they changed over to the MS260.

Many of the later model Stihl’s have the cover formed with the decomp hole and blocked on models where the decomp wasn’t installed. Cheaper to make one cover.

That little plastic insert is in the $5-10 range at a dealer.

Zero need for a decomp in that saw. Even ported with 200+psi they are easy to pull over.

WT194

Around $40 on eBay. There are China knockoffs for around $10, but it’s a crapshoot.
Thanks man. It the cutout for the oiler but doesn't have a screw there. So wt194 is adjustable high jet. The saw looks new wish it was mine.

The carb options will be dependent on the current air filter setup and whether it has a compensating carb on it now. Without photos this is still a mystery. If it is non-compensating a WT-194 will bold right in. If it is compensating then a WT-394 or Wt-426. The 194/394 is full adjustable and can be touchy to setup. The 426 is not so touchy but still has both H/L adjustments. The metering cover(s) can be swapped to fit the existing A/F setup if needed.

There were multiple versions of this saw produced over 20+ years all called "026". Without photos etc. nobody knows exactly the configuration that you got.
Wt493.

I pulled the muffler piston and rings look. fine.. This is pretty much new saw . but a/f and the carb was cover in fines. Plus it's got a 20 bar.

Based on the photos a WT-194 will bolt right in. BTW, it looks like someone likely put the wrong carb screw grommet on the existing carb. As I recall the 026 grommets were black and the 260 were white. Also it doesn't look like the white one fits very good.

If that is the original carb it has a date code of 1998 which puts this saw as very late production 026. Post a photo of the silver EPA label on the handle and we can tell if that matches the saw or was likely replaced.

This is the newer tank housing with the low profile tank vent. This means that the saw can be converted to the compensating carb and wide (o26 Pro/260) air filter. For this you would need a WT-426 carb or convert a WT-194 to a WT-394 by adding a metering cover snorkel. If it was my saw I would convert it since the wider filter flows more air and should be available for a LOT longer than the old narrow 026 filter.

I agree on the bar.i don't think any has been in here.the white grommet fits fine. No snorkel on the a/f. Yes for three screw carb and filter. Here's some pics

Well, based on that label this saw was manufactured in June of 1999, one of the last ones before the MS260 came out. The carb is likely original.

However, the screw grommet still looks wrong. Looks like someone trimmed the wrong one and jammed it in there. The function of the carb screw grommets is to guide the adjusting screwdriver and seal the carb enclosure to keep dust out. I will attach some photos of how one fits in a MS260. Notice the screw guidance and the tight sealing with the carb box. BTW, the grommets for the 260 and 026 are NOT interchangeable as the tank housings changed with the model update.

The A/F cover with the round knob is definitely the old style but I think it may have been required for the old narrow filter. If you update the air filter / carb you might also have to update the A/F cover. The issue is the latch mechanism that holds the A/F cover on. Someone else may know for sure. I have never really messed with the old non-pro 026's and this is one of the reasons. The other is the non-adjustable engine (NOT chain) driven oiler.
