Got this by mistake when buying an 026 piston and cylinder off another forum member. Unbenounced to me, the 028 and 026 share a cylinder, but not a piston. That makes me believe with some confidence this is an 028 piston, note the high dome, where the 026 is flat.

For reference, the cylinder is now on the 026 with a meteor piston with and blowing 150psi with a quick scotchbrite clean.

There is a bit of rub on the intake side, maybe new rings would be an idea?

44mm 026 piston and 44mm 028 piston are not the same animal.

Check the rings, 026 are 1.2mm thick, 028 are 1.5mm thick

The cylinders are different also. There should be a casting # that starts with 1121 for 026/024 and 1118 for 028 series

P.S. on looking at the pictures, the width of the rings, and the piston dome, do point to a 44mm 028 piston
