I have a small bin of parts for the 048 for sale. Some of these will also work with an 042, however everything seen here was pulled from an 048 AV that had its cylinder & piston toasted.
Crankcase is ok, no cracks or leaks. Some scuffed paint and wear. Flywheel side rear cylinder mount hole doesn't have much thread left and may need a helicoil insert. Front left handle mount hole has a threaded insert and seems stable. Lower spike hole also has a threaded insert but seems shoddy and may need to be redone. Crank is in great shape and bearings turn smoothly, no play at all. I don't think the seals are too bad, it's probably best to assume they will need replaced. Asking $20 for it.
Bosch electronic flywheel and coil with triggering unit were working when pulled from saw. I could not test them myself but did check continuity on the spark plug lead and ground wire, both are good. Asking $30 for the whole setup.
Clutch is in good shape, springs have some wear but not too much play. Clutch drum is good, some wear. $10 for both.
Oiler and plastic gear seem pretty good. I can't test them but when I turned the plastic gear I could get some oil to come out. Asking $10 for both.
New old stock crankcase gasket is good, no tears. $5
Top cover is a little dirty but no cracks $8
Filter cover is a little dirty and has a micro fracture forming in the center. $6
