IMHO
Buy the saw, once you get it running correctly, it will last for a long long time.
If you do mill with it, I would only sparingly, as I think that is what made my cylinder seperate from the case.

My understanding is that "L" stands for low noise. These saw's have special intakes and exhaust. Stihl 051 anti-vibration low noise electronic.
