Sold Stihl 088 *New Price

Have a decent 088 that I am selling for a guy. It was rebuilt by the guy that owns it. The piston was reused and has some scratches. The saw runs and oils as it should. The case has a piece busted off on the PTO side above the spike. The spike is also broken. The chain brake handle was cut off. The brake band and linkage is there. Comes with a spare recoil and air filter cover. Both are decent. Look to get $1200 shipped. Will consider reasonable offers as well. Here is a list of what was done.

Dang that looks like a deep score on that piston- same markings on cylinder?

I’d try to disclose the cylinder shape- at least pull plug and shine light through to inspect exh side of cylinder with piston at BDC. My bet is it’s scored looking at the front of that piston.
Not trying to shoot down a sell for ya- but that’s a lot of dough

Took your advice and shined a little down the spark plug hole. There is a score above the exhaust port that would catch a finger nail.

I would rather someone know exactly what they are getting then be surprised upon arrival.
