I recently rebuilt a stihl bg 65 with new seals gaskets etc all oem and when I air tested it the lips of new seals are leaking is there a specific way to put these in? I put the rtv on the bottom housing and on the seals. The seal flywheel side went on easy but on the fan side was more difficult and had to really push it on? Any help would be appreciated thanks

Hey :)

If you needed to apply lots of force you may have unintentionally prolapsed the seal and the spring popped off. Could also be a dirty crank shaft?
Clutch side seals often require a coke can or installing tool to get over the step. Flywheel side is tapered and should go on just fine.
Dirko or similar on the OD of the seal and grease on the ID of the seal.

Take some photos :)

Warn regards, Tom
