Normal or reverse thread? Just need to get the clutch off in the final disassembly.
Reason for takedown, catastrophic bearing failure. Note missing balls and chewed up piston.

1 big mistake not taking it off before removing the piston/cylinder but it is reverse threaded and get out your impact and hold on tight is my advice

Ok thanks. It was being stubborn, so just making sure. Going to put the flywheel back on and hold it with an oil filter wrench. If that doesn't work, will have to borrow an impact.

If you want to do it the right way put the cylinder back on and put rope down the spark plug hole then put your wrench to it

Wound up using a manual impact driver on it, needed quite a bit of persuasion. Some of the balls in a bearing are missing, might have ended up in the muffler. New long block on the way, not taking a chance on the old guts.
