Stihl MS390 Muffler Mod

Hi All,

A newb question on modding a muffler on an MS390...
I've had the saw for while now and done a fair amount of cutting with it but could always use more power
I've been reading some of the other posts about the muffler mods and want to give it a crack, but was thinking to buy an aftermarket muffler to make the mods on in case it all goes pear-shaped.
I read on a post that the after market mufflers aren't much good - so my question to you alll - am I just wasting time and money buying an after market muffler and modding it? or should I just bite the bullet and mod the genuine muffler?

I modded the oem on my 025 and bought an AM before hand just in case I screwed up I would still be able to use it.

Its thhe easiest muffler to mod ever just about. Take the front cover/outlet off, enlarge the holes underneath.
