hi gang. i came across a chance to buy a nw stove. it's a vogelzang, i have seen them in the northern tool/ hydraulics catalog. this guy bought it and had it shipped, now it won't fit where he wants to put it. it's not a pretty stove, with a glass door etc., it's a cabinet stove, loads from the side. i was wondering if anybody had this type of stove and how they were??? thanks

I glanced at a Vogelzang boxwood stove at our local Fleet Farm. It was based on age old design similar to an ancient Atlanta Stove Works I've got in a shed here. There was no comparison in quality. These things are made in China and the castings are of a cheap ill-fitting metal. The end result is a leaky fragile stove that I would be reluctant to put in a home. If you can get it for free (or really cheap) and put it in a shed or other outbuilding, go for it.
