Howdy folks, trying to convince my boss that this tree needs to come down, and that we need to hire professionals. I’m confident in my ability to fall a tree in the direction I want but with having to fall it uphill and the base being so close to the house I am concerned it’ll bounce right through the house. Hoping y’all can help strengthen my argument as my boss will not want to spend the coin to hire professionals

If your not comfortable, definatly don't do it. My concern as the guy that owns a tree company, is that wall. The trunk is going to blast that wall with a normal stump height. This is a great candidate for a pair of spikes

Should have been more clear. I refuse to cut it down myself. Not too worried about the retaining wall. Can drop a couple rail road ties on it and even if it breaks it’s not hard to fix

don't worry about the wall. Tie in a good strong rope as high as you can to get the best leverage and pull toward the upper grass area. Cut the trunk at the wall height, maybe a bit higher. When the tree falls to the direction the rope is being pulled, the branches will cushion the fall as it hits the ground. The trunk, as a result of cutting at the wall height, will be at or above the wall with no damage. Not a big tree so its not likely the trunk will crush to the ground.

Plus it has to be mouthed and cut right and pulled in sync with the cutter!

100 ways this could go wrong, that should be professionally managed.
.
Lower deformity reveals wild grain inside, would want to cut higher than; as to be in more consistent , predictable grain structure. Would favor binding just under face to firm. Sometimes binding over face if facing reveals more questionable interior.
