Just wondering what others set their water temp. and differental settings on outdoor wood furnaces?
Also do you change your settings based on weather, wood or other variables?
Thanks
Dave

I have a Empire 450 4 yrs old canada made
set on 165 to 170 never change it
22 in door fire box 3 x3 x 5
heat house 2400sq ft & shop both need more insulaton
burn 1-2 pickup loads week depends on weather and quality of wood

water temp

I have a french made indoor boiler that is about 65 ft from my house inside of a 8x10 shed (insulated ) and I set the temp at 190-200 I also have this in series with an oil boiler that is located in my house with a domestic water heater in the oil and my first zone valve is a three way valve that bipasses when not calling for heat and on the wood burner I have an overheat thermostat set above 210 so that it won't over heat and flash. and yes I do adjust the water temp when the weather is warmer to save on wood you have to play with it for a while to get your best settings depends on wood type and dryness and ambient temp etc. etc.
