Hi , does anyone have any shop/service manuals for a early 1989 Husqvarna 288xp or a 281/288 . Im trying to find any extra literature ,schematics, better detailed instructions on reference to installing the plastic worm gear into the oil pump , i have disassembled and assembled a few dozen times now and i can't get the worm gear seated square inside the oil pump assembly , its driving me insane. If i install the worm gear already mounted inside the oil pump assembly i can almost get it seated but then i can't get my seal over the crank cuz the hole on the worm gear has a smaller inside diameter than the inside diameter of the crank seal and i cant get my pop can guide to allow the seal to seat properly with the worm gear on the way . ! So im pulling at the ether here ! Can anyone help in any way or is there literature or directions that exist to help me get passed this seemingly simple but torturous task ?
