I just had an interesting conversation with a fellow selling a chainsaw on eBay. He had been using a newer 2.3 CID Homelite for a while, but he wanted a bigger saw. An old Super XL shows up at a yard sale so he buys it. As soon as he gets home, he finds that his wife had bought him a 2.5 cube Poulan Pro off eBay. What does he do now? He puts the Super XL up for auction! The guy says he doesn't need anything that huge. I hope he gets the power he was looking for out of that extra 6cc's in that Poulan.

I think this shows pretty well what type of buyer drives the largest saw market.

THe super XL is heavy, loud, and will vibe a lot more than that little poulan. I'm sure that, and the fact that all he has to cut is an unruly lilac weighs on his decision.
