Trying to get these little buggers on an 034. Got one side in after a struggle, mounted the piston on the con. rod and tried the other side. Chased that thing a few time across the garage and after awhile, bent it. So, while I wait for more to arrive, can any one tell me how to install that clip without using special tools. Can't afford $90 tool for what will probably be 1 time use.

TIA

Have a great day.

Firstly wear safety glasses hehe

then read this from @pioneerguy600 it worked beautifully when I did my 180 and 260, Maybe put a clear plastic bag over the piston to catch the clip and also stuff the crank case with paper towel to stop it falling in there.

and lastly my advice is don’t think you remember this method and go off memory, or this may happen! This was on my 039 I just finished..

During the process of trying to get that clip in, I did try to push it in with that little screw driver. That was about the time it did it's zip away. Well, what now. So after some suggestions from others I put a hook in that screw driver and what do you know. Used one of the old clips (no, I did not leave it in there) to see if it would work. Like, in 30 sec. it was in Thanks to all for the help.
