Ticks !!!!

I’ve read that opposum eat ticks one of the few critters that can stomach it so think of that next time you shoot one cuz you see it in the yard or you trap one let it go..

So far the tics haven’t been that bad as expected this year. There’s plenty of birds and turkeys feeding here plus the weather hasn’t been normal too.

Ours were fairly thick in grassy areas in mid to late june and have since resided. I had a tiny one on me the other day, about the size of the head of a pin. It was walking, not attached though luckily.

I keep the grass cut short I hope that helps. I notice the heaviest numbers wise in the spring and fall. The summer heat seems to shut them down.

Been working in the woods probably 2-3 days a week the past month. Haven’t seen a tick in weeks but the mosquitoes are still thick as thieves around my cabin.

The good news is we are only about 3 weeks from frost so that will put an end to them.

I have three or four Broods
of turkeys with eight chicks each they canvas my two acres everyday on the way to the bird seed. Haven't seen a tick anywhere.

I had only seen one nest all year, a tiny one that I quickly zapped under my eaves. Then I was walking through my in-laws yard and got stung by a yellow jacket last weekend from a big nest under their eave.

Averaging one sting a week here. Baldface Hornets packing the most poison in their stings , as I have seen so far.

White faced hornets are the worst. Once bitten, run because the whole nest is coming at ya.

I have a couple way up at the peak of the house - they will get the pressure washer treatment with some soap injection. At least then I'll have a head start on the little meanies.

Assholes with wings, if you spot a nest, hit it with as big a water hose as you can find! We have lots of hornets this yr. I’m told that blue jays love to eat them so I’ve let them nest here for the last few yrs, I’ll put up with their noise if they kill the hornets.

I always kill them i owe them that! Soap and Permethrin in hot water. Jays are alright.

Those things sting like a red hot claw hammer hitting you. They aren’t agressive like yellow jackets but if you get into their turf, look out!

I am well aware I am allergic I break out in itchy hives literally head to toe! If you know where they are kill them.
