A very thin coating of oil on the cylinder wall a piston becomes very stiff and viscous when cold making the cylinder wall and piston seem to be glued together. With a warm saw the oil become much less viscous and the saw pulls easier.
Also the dimensions of the cylinder and piston change as temperature changes. This might make a tighter fit at cold temperatures. It depends on the expansion rates of the materials.
