We’re slow at work so I figured I could get an entire day un interrupted at the wood pile. Got A couple hours worth of splitting stacked up from a week or two ago. According to the hour meter on the splitter I split 2.4hours today. Got all that stacked. Then went to my dads house and got a load of wood from there. Unloaded it then brought some more wood into the cellar till I couldn’t see.

Very productive day but I’m gonna pay for in the morning. Whole front row is the start for next year. Pile is almost 6 feet high. I usually burn the front and back row in one winter. Maybe a little will be left over at the end.

Also my oldest daughter came by for an hour so too so That was nice to see her.

Various pics throught the day in no particular order. I should have took one before I started but you get the idea.

A day of hard work is it's own reward - then again so is a soak in a hot tub. Just a bit of a forward looking news: As a retiree, these days "off" are my life. And, I wouldn't trade for any of my 40 years of employment.

Hopefully I’ll get there someday. Just had my 40th birthday a couple weeks ago. So I’m closer than not, well as long as I stay alive that long.

I applaud you, got a red oak in my front yard would like to convert into that. Just been too busy working on saws and small engine stuff for spring to take a stab at it. I got a stihl km 131 with pole saw and extension, just waiting to get jiggy with it.
