Aguy down the road from me bought a piece of property with a gob of trees that the previous owner was trying to start a small nursery with. This guy sells me some maples and ash trees and I start to wonder about spade size. The trees are 3 - 4' caliper. Will a 32" skid steer spade work or am I gonna have to get something bigger. Kind of new ground for me but I couldn't pass em up

Your root spread will approximate the dripline. If they are packed in and dont have much spread, you will probably be ok. What is the canopy spread on them? If they have more than about 4' spread, I'd try to get something bigger.
