Troy-Bilt TB5020CC Recoil Pulley - Options

Hi,

Looking for a recoil starter assembly or just recoil pulley to replace the top half part that has cracked. It uses to be sold as part number Troy Bilt MC-9228-31B205, today I cannot seem to locate one. It is an old saw, not looking to spend a lot. I hate to just trash it over a pulley. Any options?

Parts for those were hard to get when the units were still in production, and I think you had to order the whole starter.

Going to have to check ebay because they have gone nla from mtd.

Not an easy piece to find. Wonder if there is substitutions.

You might be able to use one from a chinese 52cc saw.

Was looking at them the other day since the old one was a two piece design was wondering if there was enough for the pulley to bite onto. Thx

Thank you! No luck! Looks like know one sells or not in stock. Amazing that such a commercial saw no starter assembly or just recoil pulley. Found one and they wanted $75 for an item worth $15.
