And I thought only Canada Post knew how to mangle up mail!:D The worst that ever happened to me was a $50 print in a mailing tube that was crushed beyond salvage. If you send an email explaining what happened to the publisher perhaps they will send you another?

I have had that happen before, mangled mail. Ticked me off, but then, they do handle more mail than anyone else in the world. Let me know how you make out at getting another issue.

The Solo 633 I got from Dennis arrived with a broken handle. I think part of the reason was that Dennis forgot to completely drain the bar lube and the box got rather soggy and soft. It was still disappointing to see that busted handle after waiting almost 2 weeks for the saw. :(
The replacement handle was less than $8, over $16 with 2nd day air. Hopefully I get the handle today.

USPS has lost three shipments that were supoosed to be sent to me. The first was a 023, chaps, helmet, file guide, oil mix, and bar oil. The guy who sent it to me charged me $40 and had it professional packed so I know it was done correctly. It never showed up, no traces. It was insured for $300 and after well over six months they sent a check for $255. The next item was 36" Husky bar and chain. They delivered me a empty fold of cardboard. The sender would not return my emails and the post office acted like they did not know what a chain saw bar was. I was out $60. The last item wass ent Priority MAil and has not arrived after 2 months. I have not had UPS lose anything yet they just deliver it broken.

    Economic Terrorism

Maybe the new CIA/FBI/Homeland Security triumverate could investigate the Postal Service under the charges of economic terrorism. You know, conspiring to slow and inhibit the economic engine of the USA and causing its citizens irritatiion, vexation, and loss of precious materials.

When the troops come back, perhaps we could divert a division to occupy and control our post offices. Imagine the jump in startled productivity when a tank comes through the back wall and collaterally damages a few workers on extended break.

Since we have guys in black wandering the bus stations with automatic weapons, why not have a few at the windows or guarding the bins?

And if you think about it, there's more incidents of guys going postal than driving up to the mall with C-4. So, we could nip those postals before thjey graduate to mass destruction stuff. (Did you ever wonder that the anthrax came through the mails?)

So if we're going to investigate people who speak Arabic, we should also check out people who speak slurred English. No, wait a minute, that's half the population. Never mind.

If every mailperson were escorted by a trooper (How come they're not called "troop person? Maybe, because they've got guns.), our mail would be delivered faster and safer.

Those are just some thought, and actually I don't care. I just wanted to see if my new animated signature worked.

    Well so much for UPS,

I was doing some cleaning a month ago and ran across an old computer I had. I was going to pitch it but being the thrifty recyler I am I thought what about ebay. I listed it three time before someone bought it for $9.99. I figured it would weigh 50lbs so I went to ups.com and got a quote of $37 for the buyer. As I spent two hours packing it (I am not joking) I began to realize 2 things #1 I am really stupid for doing this and #2 The boat anchor weighs more than 50lbs. When I went to ship it the scale said 78 lbs and a cost of $47.11. Well I thought at least it is gone and I am not losing more than the three time listing fees. (Yes I said three times I AM AN IDIOT) Well today I got and email telling me that the cpu is dead and I did such a poor packing job that 50% of the keys are gone off of the keyboard. So after all my rambling my question is has anyone had any luck with UPS insurance claims ? The item was not packed poorly it was just so stinking heavy and hard to hold on to it probably got kicked around or dropped. Is it worth the time to go through the insurance process are so I just send the guy his money back and drown my disgust in a beer.

The $10 is nothing he is going to want $47 back. If not I am sure he will leave negative feedback. It is a no win situation.
