I hosted a woods climb for Canopyboy while he was up in Boston recently. We started out with a nice American Beech and ended up in a very interesting 102' Black Cherry. Good times...

Nice. 102' cherry, whoa. Are those biners in the tree the tie off for srt from the ground? Cause I'm thinking no.

Def not. I'd just SRT'd up on a cinched Running Bowline and switched over to DRT, had nothing good to tie in to advance so I did a temp "SRT lanyard" with my short lanyard and did the same with my main rope. Works in a pinch when you want to work your way up a short distance to get within reach of something to make your next move. I don't use the technique much but ended up using in two different trees that day, Canopyboy probably thought I was nuts :)

15' lanyard up top, main climbing rope below, inchy inchy to move up.
