It looks like A Sycamore or Plane Tree.Sycamore or London plane tree. Look at the bark up high, distorted twigs from anthracnose and spiny ball fruit. A few leaves on the ground also. Nah, I'm not crazy.
Not a sycamore. But I think it definitely might be something related to it, looking at the bark. Plane tree? I don't think we have those around here, but we definitely have sycamores everywhere.Sycamore or London plane tree. Look at the bark up high, distorted twigs from anthracnose and spiny ball fruit. A few leaves on the ground also. Nah, I'm not crazy.
Those look a lot like the sycamore balls, but they're a bit different--more spiny than sycamore. Leaves look close too, but the bark is all wrong for sycamore too dark, and the rougher sections of bark are too thick/deep. But it definitely looks like a very close cousin!
Well, I change my answer with that picture!
I don't think it's American Sycamore, which is what we have around here in my area. The balls are not on a string as the OP shows. Bark is different too.that is American Sycamore. London planetree has the balls borne in pairs.
P. racemosa and P. orientalis have the balls on a "string" with multiples. P. orientalis also has different leaves.
Hmm?Possible horse chestnut.
Just a Plane ol Tree!Well, I change my answer with that picture!
Probably Platanus orientalis. I'm honestly not as familiar with that species or P. racemosa
No question it is Platanus...just which species?
