Wayne whisper chipper bearing oil

Im looking for some info on an old chipper i recently purchased. It's a FMC Wayne chipper, 318 chrysler v8, runs great. I read through the manual which i found on another thread and noticed the oil bath for the bearings calls for SAE 40w non detergent. Anyone have experience with these machines? 40w is hard to find in my province and im wondering if there is an alternative oil i could be using. Thanks in advance
