I'm new on here by the way and I'm not sure if this was already answered, but what is happening to jonsered dealers? On the 28th I'm going to a Jonsered "roadshow" to see their new lineup as they are pushing me to become a dealer.

Since my thread in the post has yielded nothing I hope you J-red dealers will allow me to hijack. If any of you have any of the Jonsered branded total bars in. 050 on your shelf please PM me, I'm looking for a couple. Thank you, and apologies for the off topic request.

This is the New Jonsered going forward. They are being sold to dealers in the northeast US by a distributor in Franklin MA. They also will be sold by Menards throughout the Midwest.
Yea, Gardner-Connell in Franklin is my Kohler distributor and they are the ones pushing for my store to carry jonsered but if its only 5 saws under 55cc I cannot see the point.

There is no doubt that the Jonsered brand will be badly missed in some areas/product categories - but it seems that Husky just ignores that, because of the Redmax brand's merit in other (more profitable) areas/product categories.

The odd thing is that Redmax just is (or has been) a "sales" brand in North America, mainly for Zenoah products - so this change has to be restricted to North America? At least this is how I understand it.

Redmax simply isn't an O P E brand over here, but Zenoah sort of is (most people likely haven't heard of it though).

Looking at the new website for other countries. I'm not seeing a saw bigger than the 2253?

Germany is showing the 2258 But it's the only pro saw in the lineup.

I noticed about the same when looking up some Jonsered web-sites the other day, so there are a lot of questions in the air at the moment - like if the larger Husky made saws (that used to be Jonsered branded) will be sold as Redmax in North America, and what will happen on other markets....

Do those Redmax - g9000 have a plastic crank case or a mag case, they don't look to bad

On wednesday I went to Gardner-Connell to see this new jonsered line that they are pushing. According to the guy from husqvarna, for the year 2018, jonsered will only be plastic/clamshell saws under 55cc for the purpose of testing current redmax users.
The guy said if sales dont increase under the redmax name, they will bring back the mag saws under jonsered in 2019.

I know if a guy is wanting a Jonsered, right now is the time to buy. (If you can find what you're looking for)

My local dealer bought the last 40 or so 2172 models with heated handles that the distributor had. He’s selling them for $ 799 . I bought one and I may buy another to tuck away. You can find his prices on all his saws at firstgeartrucks.com.

I just bought a new 2258 (powerhead only) for $399.

I highly doubt we will see a return of the Jonsered pro chainsaws. I see husqvarna dumping the Jonsered name completely before rebranding it again.

Husqvarna's focus with the Redmax brand is landscapers and arborists with handheld equipment and zero turn mowers.

The future of the Jonsered name depends on how well Menards does with it.
