Hi, I'm looking at a large red oak (over 3 feet, likely about 4 feet or so DBH).
It's very straight and clear of almost all branches to probably 40' high.
However it is slightly tilted. Probably between 5 and 10 degrees. (I'll check more closely when i see it tomorrow).
Has anyone run into internal stresses due to that degree of lean? I want to make sure the boards will come out ok.
I plan to quartersaw on my chain saw mill, from 5/4 up to about 14/4 or a bit thicker.
Thank you.
