To be allowed to do my wind miller's exam, I had to do a day's work on a wind saw mill.

I passed my exam!

Fantastic. Thanks for posting. Don't see many sash gang saws here. Certainly no wind powered ones.

We scrapped one out a couple years ago. Was setup to be driven by a tractor or steam engine, had a big flat belt pulley. Between that and a jointer and planer (all like early 1900s) they were something like 20 tons. The planer our 12k forklift couldn't lift it.

Wasn't anything worth saving, would have need hundreds of man hours to make usable.
