Wood related reading material

Anybody read either of these? I got them as a gift from my wife (along with a pair of flannel lined jeans) so I think she sees me as obsessed with firewood. I read the introductions for each - they may both cover the topics in general terms but there should be some good info in them anyway.

Yep, that's a good wife, and awesome gifts.

When I was a kid I got a hold of the book "Trees - 1949 Yearbook of Agriculture" which had a huge effect on me - I think it ate into my brain.
My wife gave me a drip torch for my birthday. ( I have a good wife too!)
