You didn't post about anything that would use much electricity either?

The electricity was about $200 and the natural gas was about $338. The month before it was about $160 for electricity and about $210 for natural gas.

Ya....gotta get something going for next fall. In the mean time-I’m gonna start cutting and splitting to get some wood for next fall. I have probably a cord that I split last spring so that’ll have a year and a half seasoning at least in it.

I will say with an add on furnace and your insulation you are going to burn a lot of wood. I am struggling to figure out the new EPA furnace but if you are new to wood burning then get an EPA furnace lol. I'd get an outdoor boiler before an outdoor furnace. If I had an old house I'd get a big wood stove on the first floor.

I feel your pain my last house was from the 1850s and I was paying 200+ a month for natural gas to use a boiler to keep the house at 62 in the winter.
