Wrap or goop.for damaged trunk?

Have a birch I planted last year and I guess a moose got to it. Chewed a section of bark about 1"x8".
The tree is maybe 1" dbh. Just a little guy.

Anything I can do to help it?

Photos I thought I had loaded. Guess they didn't "take" or they were taken down, dunno.

Some of the tips that had buds are chomped off as well. Same with a larger tree.
Frigging woods packed full of food and moose needs to eat the trees I care about. Maybe he'll be nice and fat this fall and find his way into my freezer.

Hhopefully. This is tree #3 I've planted there.

The one on the other side of the driveway is the first I planted and is now easily 15ft tall.
