Hello,

We (the family) usually buy live Christmas trees and plant them on our property. We have varying degrees of success, some thrive and others struggle.

One in particular was done very well for the last 8 - 10 years, is either a grand fir or silver(?) fir. It's about 20' tall and planted alone so has maintained it's conical shape. Lately, the last couple years, the tips of the branches have started to die. 'The tips' refer to about 16" on average. I have been pruning them but have decided the tree needs something else as they continue to develop.

Could this be some parasite? treatable? Would really hate to loose this tree. Not sure this helps, but we live on the north Oregon coast about a mile as the crow flies from the beach.

Thank you for any insights.
