I was in northern tool buying a new hydraulic valve the other day and seen this tool.

I'm sure it would be pretty slick for making kindling but I don't think it's worth $100. I've never needed to make kindling, I just use scraps for that.

Anybody used this?

There's another thread in here from a few months ago on that thing. I think the consensus was that will only work on perfectly straight grained soft wood.

If that is dangerous, then I'd hate to see what a chainsaw is considered to be. Deadblow hammer, wedge welded to a piece of steel, bolted to a piece of wood and 1 by's.......

I think that is safer than holding the piece of wood and hitting it with a hatchet.

Deadblow hammer

deadly hammer, razor sharp wedge welded to a steel plate, bolted to a wood block(splinters) which could be dropped on a foot easily dismembering you, wood that you could get splinters from, leather gloves that you could have an allergic reaction from... should I keep going????all of you scare me!
