Don't envy him cutting in that burnt up wood, wonder how long the chain stays sharp. Do they do anything with the timber?

Great vids. i had seen another video of the sizwheel SP? and couldnt really see what was going on but this video was clear. Does the sizwheel act the same on hardwoods?

If the burn is on private ground it usually gets logged, shipped, and milled. Immediately. A lot of times the haul roads are being prepped before the fire is even out. The quicker you get the wood out the more of it you can save. Nobody likes working a burn salvage but it's part of the life.

Government ground is a different story. Sometimes it takes a year or more, sometimes a lot more, to start logging burned timber. Sometimes it doesn't get logged at all. The amount of waste is appalling.
