McCulloch Super Pro 40
This saw was bought new by my grandfather and was inherited by my father who in turn passed it down to me (since he only used Homelites back in the day) and I have had it ever since. My impression of McColloch saws was (and still is) that they were finicky and hard to start, but once running they screamed like a bat out of he//! Then I discovered Stihls and this saw was drained and put into dry storage. My grandfather had removed the Hand guard/Chain brake right after he bought it and I never saw it again- so that is the one part that is missing. The 16" bar is in good condition and it has a new chains that has not been used. A second used chain that has been sharpened multiple times (and is sharp now) is included as a backup chain. The exhaust port side of the piston shows some light to moderate scoring- which is to be expected of a saw of it's age. The intake side looks fine and the saw still has a lot of compression for its size when pull starting (unfortunately, I do not own a compression gauge or I would have listed an actual number). I started the saw today and it idles and runs and oils (manual by design) as expected. The saw would benefit from being tuned by a knowledgable person and can probably use a good carb cleaning as well. I will accept any reasonable offer(s). Shipping costs (from MD, 21658) to be paid by the buyer so please factor them into any offers. PayPal preferred, but USPS MO is fine to. Going to try this a different way- $100 shipped to the lower 48 or Trade for a good condition/clean Stihl (preferred) or Power Match 32" 3/8" .050 (or maybe 28" or 25") Bar.

Ok, the saw must be worth a lot less than I thought it was (I know Stihls, but not much about McCullochs). Last shot at this- $50. & buyer pays shipping to lower 48. I would think it would be worth that much in parts alone, much less a running saw. Anyone, anyone, Beuler, Beuler...:msp_blink:

You are in the neighborhood at $50. What you have there is essentially a mini-MAC with a different "shell" on it and a rear handle. Minis are pretty much universally hated, and that is not helping things for you. The SP-40 is interesting though, as they are not nearly as common as top-handle minis. Good luck with the sale. If I didn't have a jillion saws already, I'd flip for it. I'm actually thinking about thinning things down a little myself.
