I have early B77 model, passed down to me by my grandfather. Nothing never changed, still original carb membranes...
I still use it on a regular basis for felling and bucking bigger trees (along with 480CD and Stihl 051AVE)
It is lighter than 480CD and does not feel any less powered (both have the same 77cc jug, piston, crank)

I've always wanted to port a L77. Had one in box once but never got around the building it.

My brother’s got a complete saw that we think is an L77 he'd sell for $60 + shipping. To the best of my knowledge nothing’s wrong with it, but neither of us have touched it since he bought it as part of a group of Huskies.31381DD3-B64D-489F-80B4-622C2DAF19F3.jpeg8ECDC1A5-8250-4FF2-965D-E0D74EE43A62.jpeg0F69223F-95DD-4C5D-A7CD-4E1200FB3C64.jpegF04C5E86-FD78-408F-8257-A120B3DC0D63.jpegDED15C46-487D-41F4-B8EA-EC2FBC16AAEE.jpeg

The recoil is what didn't look rite to me, among other things, but then my recoil has been apoxied in the front. Also that top cover looks like maybe an L65 cover that was cut to let the L77 plug through. I'll have to look at mine tomorrow.
Edit
I just looked at a pic of a 380, yer rite, it ain't that.
