Hi folks. I'm going a bit crazy and looking for a sanity check. I have a MS 260 with an 18" bar. .063" .325 pitch, 72 drive link. I would like a full chisel cutter with the anti kickback hump. I use this saw mostly for limbing and cutting small stuff around the yard. I have a MS 362 for firewood. I like the idea of the green chain for weird positions like limbing and downed trees/limbs, just to be safe. I'm an advanced homeowner, but far from using my saws every day.

It looks like Stihl only sells the RM3 or RS, not the RS3 in this size. I can find Husky or Oregon brand chains. My local dealer is no help, they just said, "sorry, we don't stock that"

Any idea why not Stihl?

Welcome to A.S.!

Lazy excuse. Many dealers only stock parts with high turnover, but they can order anything that STIHL USA sells. Especially if you are willing to wait a bit for their 'regular' order (every week, or every other week?). If STIHL does not sell it, that is something else, and you might want to try the other brands.
EDIT: looks like they might have it in 0.050 gauge, which means a different guide bar if you want the full-chisel cutter in the STIHL brand?

A good way to shop other STIHL dealers, and find one that wants to help get you what you want.

Just get Oregon chain. By the by, saw shops are usually quite helpful but True Value Stihl "dealers" tend to suck. They are a parts ordering place as opposed to a saw shop.

I just ordered a loop of Super 20 from Amazon. Funny, they offer an extended warranty for $3.99 for 3 years. I passed, but it makes me wonder if I should add it and just return a worn out loop in a couple years. Might be worth considering for guys that burn through more chain.
